Basic content and impossible to cancel – scam?

Although the initial quiz seems like the product could be useful, it is actually very basic. And it is impossible to cancel. I paid for a month and emailed to cancel before the renewal date. No response. They took a random amount of money with no receipt or information. I’ve emailed again twice and DM on social media. They have auto responders set up so it looks like they are responding. Still no reply. I am still trying to cancel and I guess it is now time to go to my bank.

Update 12 June: I had reached out 4 times to your support email address, but never received a response. It is not appropriate to share my email address in this forum. I have emailed you today (AGAIN) with all the information. You have taken money out of my account again, so there is now 2 months to be refunded, as I cancelled well before the renewal date in May.

Scam – read for red flags

Red Flags listed below:

– You can’t cancel your subscription without having to email them. Even if you select to cancel it just routes you to your email.

– When I selected to cancel, I sent the email request and always got the same automated message back with a random persons’ name.

– I have submitted 3 of these cancellation requests and my Liven account still exists, it’s now been about 50 days (even though they say they cancel your account within 30 days).

– If you do a one month trial, the App withdraws a yearly renewal fee automatically after the trial period ends and you don’t get notified. Had to go through my bank to get the money that they deducted back from them. I also cancelled my card so they can’t take any more money from me.

Thankfully I got refunded the yearly fee AND the monthly trial fee as my bank is awesome so 5 stars to them. Talk to your bank people!

They have now taken 3 payments from me without my full knowledge or consent. On the latest one, they have only offered me a partial refund! Absolute scam, wish I had read these reviews before ever coming close to this company. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

Biggest scam ever

Biggest scam ever. Aside from the app not being at all what was advertised ahead of the paywall, it continues to charge you for a service AFTER your cancellation request has been made within one day of using the product. Just grateful I paid with a method that allows me to submit a claim.

Run!…just like they did with my money. I took the quiz with the “free” trial months ago and thought that was the end of it until I just discovered that I have had two charges, including 59.99 not even two weeks ago!!. Yikes!!!! I just hung up with customer service. He just kept saying “your account is active.” He didn’t care that I was not aware that I had an active account. He said he deactivated it but who knows? No confirmation number and need to wait 24 hours for a confirmation email. This was the most disappointing and frustrating app experience I have ever had. I hope this hellish ordeal is over and they don’t keep doing random charges.

Customer service reached out via email and refunded the most recent charge.
The subscription appears to be successfully deactivated. I don’t necessarily think this company is a scam, but in my opinion, they need to improve the purchasing process so that customers know exactly what they are buying and for how much. I added a star for my most recent customer service experience.

Hidden extortionate monthly subscription

The app has a seemingly one-off small purchase for the content but hidden in T&C is a £60 a month subscription with a money back guarantee that has so many exclusions it’s never valid.

The app’s account settings make no mention of the monthly subscription either. Clearly designed to extract money from accounts by stealth.

Customer service responded very quickly, but kept repeating a message about refunds not being possible and offering an upsell. I repeatedly insisted on a refund and said I’d open a case with PayPal and leave a review here. They did refund in the end.

$99.99 for three months !!!!

I just noticed $99.99 is deducted from my paypal. I checked and noticed they deducted another $99.99 three months ago. Why on earth someone should pay $400 a year for a stupid app. I called the customer support and they said they will refund but they did not ! Scam

Absolute RIP OFF

Absolute RIP OFF, as other posts mention. You pay an initial one off payment with no information stating to cancel a subscription. There is no way of doing this in the app so it is very misleading. The app is childlike, useless. Don’t even know why I signed up, must have been tired and it just seemed OK for the initial price which is affordable. No warning to take your next bill and it comes a day early. When you try and contact them, no response!!
Why would anyone pay £60 for this rubbish, it is a scam indeed.

Again, I have not heard anything from Liven and we are now 29th June!!!!!

No evidence of subscription in my Apple account – Trustpilot TheLiven.com Scam Cannot Unsubscribe

I was charged about USD 60 without prior notice

I was charged about USD 60. I found it is not for me and want to unsubscribe but there is no evidence of subscription in my Apple account so I assumed that it was automatically discontinued by the end of that 30 day period. However, I am charged the next month without any notice. I’m now trying to contact the Liven Team to unsubscribe my account and ask for refund.

Will give them some time to deal with my request before updating the result in my next review.

What a waste of money and time!

I have signed up based on great looking adverts promising a fabulous program and I got instead a very basic, useless app. I would qualify it as a scam in line with other reviewers. The only good thing I have to say is that they were quick to cancel my subscription when I wrote them (that said, they offered no refund for already paid money and I did have to spend time finding details for customer support and writing them as it was impossible to cancel from the app itself!).

If I could give zero stars, I would.

It started so well with a fairly detailed questionnaire and I thought £11.99 was decent enough for an app if it worked (I don’t believe it was shown anywhere this was only a 1 month trial).

The app itself is so basic and I was disappointed that this was the case- after a week or 2 I stopped using it and thought no more of it.
Today discovered a £60 payment taken… no prior notice that this was happening, and the strange thing is it doesn’t show on your Apple active subscription lists anywhere.
The app itself has no information- including whether you’re in an active subscription or not. No way to check payments or cancellations.

I am one of the lucky ones and got an immediate response and a few back and forth have resulted in a refund (I wonder if it’s as it was via PayPal?!).
