My bank issued a new card to me AND The Liven charged US$99.99 to my new credit card again!

Unauthorised charge, No Notice northbound Invoice issued. No response from Customer Service

I signed up for Liven one time, for $29.99 but I didn’t receive a receipt. I didn’t think much of it because I assumed I could just go into account on the website and retrieve it whenever I needed it, because that’s what normal, decent, law-abiding businesses do.

3 months later, I suddenly got charged $99.99 by Liven. I hadn’t authorised this charge; I didn’t receive any prior notice that I was going to be charged; I hadn’t subscribed to anything new i.e. I have no idea what this charge is for. So, I went into the Liven app to look for an invoice. But the account and settings section doesn’t contain such info. So, I went to Liven’s website and it says “Our Web Product is currently unavailable”. I also sent an email to the customer support address, asking for an explanation for the charge, to cancel it, and to give a full refund. It’s been more than a week and I’ve not heard back. I’ll dispute it as a fraudulent charge based on my credit card’s guidelines.

This is all very disappointing to say the least, for an app that’s supposed to help people.

Update: June 4 2024
Despite their response about how deeply sorry they are here (and my subsequent reply to them with my email add) – The Liven still HAS NOT reached out to me. I’ve reported it as a fraudulent charge in my credit card, so my bank issued a new card to me AND The Liven charged US$99.99 to my new credit card again!!! This is outrageous. Everything they say here is lip service. Otherwise, how is it that they have my contact information for 2 weeks now; they have yet to reach out; AND charged another $99.99 when I specifically disputed this charge, requested for a cancellation and refund.

Liven Do Not Understand They Have To Provide What A Customer Has Paid For

This is the response to my request for a refund. Once I’d paid, I could not access the Liven app. No response from customer service either until I eventually complained on Trustpilot. Liven then gave me a code to access the app, but by this time I had lost confidence in this company and I did not access the app at all. I have asked for a refund explaining why. This is the response:

“Julian (Liven)
May 12, 2024, 13:12 GMT+3

Dear Linda,
Thank you for getting back to us!

Kindly be advised that in accordance with our money-back policy does not apply to the following cases:

Personal reasons (you don’t like the product, it did not meet your expectations, etc.);
Financial reasons (you did not expect that you would be charged, that the trial would be converted into a subscription, that the subscription would automatically renew, or that the services would be paid, etc.)”

Neither of the above reasons apply to my case. Liven dies not understand that they should not take customers’ money and think their responsibility ends there.

Their customer service is non existent and they wilfully misunderstand if/when they FINALLY respond. They also ask you to rate their service! So here it is.

They have consistently terrible reviews since I signed with them last month.

Company is a fraud. They charged my credit card 3 times in the same week. After i sent 2 emails requesting cancelation.

Company is a fraud. It must be run on A.I., as responses to queries are suspiciously canned boilerplate language that skirts the subject complaint. The company continues to bill without prior notice, despite my having requested cancellation and a refund. Steer clear!

I paid for a 3 month subscription…

I paid for a 3 month subscription approximately 1 month ago. You have attempted to bill my card on 3-5 times since then. What is the problem here? If this does not stop I will cancel my subscription.
Please respond

Auto renewal scam – the modern day Nigerian prince. Beware.

Auto renewal scam – the modern day Nigerian prince. Beware.

Can’t speak to the app as I didn’t find it noteworthy or groundbreaking in any way and canceled almost immediately. This is about terrible customer service and CRM. Received confirmation a month ago when I emailed to cancel. I am very on top of canceling subscriptions but companies like this are my nightmare. A month after receiving confirmation of cancelation, I was charged $60 and immediately forwarded them my previous correspondence, explaining that I had already canceled a month ago and wanted a refund.

Despite me clearly explaining the situation, with the forwarded thread with evidence, I received an extremely maddening response about how they’re very clear about their terms of service and that they wouldn’t be issuing me a refund. I replied by screenshotting my confirmation of cancelation (because apparently a forwarded thread wasn’t enough) and threatening to dispute with my bank. Again, for someone who despises sneaky recurring payments, this was a NIGHTMARE.

And honestly, any app that doesn’t allow you to cancel in-app is an absolute scam. They purposely left out that feature to scam you into auto-renewal payments.

My message to the company is this:

SHAME ON YOU for investing like $5 into a dumb quiz to trick procrastinators into your sneaky little auto-renewal scam. Charging $60 a month for a meaningless app that’s impossible to cancel easily, banking on the fact that people will forget to cancel or won’t notice when they do cancel and you actually haven’t fulfilled their request. This is a disgusting business practice. I will copy and paste this review everywhere to warn people to save their time and money. I hope y’all go out of business soon and that the genius responsible for this either gets caught as a scammer or never gets the opportunity to present a “genius idea” ever again.

TheLiven Scam – Trustpilot Failed Rating – TheLiven.com

I signed up in April 2024 and discovered that TheLiven is basically a $14.99 subscription to a site where you can purchase “modules” of e-books.

(Don’t believe me? Sign up yourself!)

After you get your “welcome” email they’ll ask you: “Do you want to buy the “sleeping better” module for $139? (yes or no) “Do you want to buy the “social anxiety” module for $139? (yes or no) continuing to “Do you want to buy the “using your time better” module for $139? (yes or no)

Until you finally realize (after more than ten different module purchase options):

Your Liven subscription is basically a $15 COVER CHARGE to get into their e-book store to buy modules in the form of cheap e-Books for over a hundred dollars EACH!

So, I exited the welcome area and asked for a refund. There was a hassle and specific information had to be provided. Which I guess makes sense but it could have been easier.

May rolls around. Never been to the site except the first four minutes…. Cha-CHING the charge appears: The Liven $59.99

I am out of my mind. I call my credit card company and say “I wanna reverse the charge. It’s unauthorized, I had cancelled.” and they said:

“The charge has to go through, then we will challenge it. In the meantime,  destroy the current card and wait a week for your replacement card in the mail.”

So for TheLiven’s incompetence, I am going to be without a credit card for a week.

I get with Customer Support over at the Liven and they finally hook me up by phone and the technician cancels my subscription and says there will be a refund in a few days. Well, okay. I guess I’m okay.

June rolls around. Never been to the site except the first four minutes….and cancelled my subscription twice:  Cha-CHING the charge appears: The Liven $59.99

That’s when I realized: This is what they DO!

Sign up 2.3 million people.

Lose a bunch of them. In fact, lose 96% of them*

2.3M signups, but converting only 100K active users. That’s a 4% subscription rate.

Generate a 96% satisfaction score. (With someone. Who knows who’s testing this.)

That means there’s a 4% dissatisfaction rate.

Well. What if 2.3M people sign up. And 96% cancel and don’t subscribe. Then among that 96% that don’t subscribe, something happens to them:

And Theliven continues to charge 4% of the cancellations? Just FOUR percent of the cancellations continue to be charged in a big “Oops we didn’t know!” scam.

92,000 people (4%) get recharged “accidentally” generates: FIVE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED NINETEEN THOUSAND dollars.

Then I realized: “Lord. I’m going to be recharged every month until I give up this credit card and wait a week for the new one to be delivered.”

I don’t actually care if TheLiven is a scam* or if Theliven.com has terrible Trustpilot reviews, I wouldn’t even care if Theliven.com feedback was terrible. I just don’t want MY money supporting it.

Be very cautious with Liven, and closely monitor your subscriptions!

English:
I recently had a very frustrating experience with Liven. After a trial period, I found myself subscribed with an automatic renewal that was incredibly difficult to cancel. When I attempted to cancel the subscription through their website, I encountered a technical issue that made it impossible. Liven claims to provide clear instructions and reliable service, but in reality, their system prevents a clear and easy unsubscription.
Furthermore, despite my attempts to resolve the issue, Liven refused to refund the charges, citing their refund policy, even though the charges were applied without my explicit consent as you cannot unsubscribe easily. Their customer service was uncooperative, and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn other consumers of these nearly fraudulent practices. Be very cautious with Liven, and closely monitor your subscriptions!

Scam – Don’t touch this app.

Scam – Don’t touch this app.

I am only echoing what many others have said previously.
1. Thought I’d try the app out after seeing an ad.
2. Enter to the app to find there is nothing in there of any use
3. Close the app
4. 2 weeks later they charge me €74.99 and will not give me a refund.

I would usually say any app is worth a try but when you get hit with a €75 charge I would suggest you do not risk it.

Also to note: The reason so many of us have been caught by this charge seems to be because it will not appear in your apple ‘subscriptions’ section on your phone. It’s nearly impossible to check if you’re subscribed or not.

This service is focused on marketing and selling the service to app users via slick high volume Facebook ads, then stealthily continuing to charge the user with unsuspecting, and unclear repeating fees. Managing the account and payments, and canceling the service is very unclear and difficult, apparently only via an email through the app – I am working through canceling and having my CC company cancel any ongoing payments.
The service itself is very basic, drip feet of minimal content that tries to drag out staying on the app for extended periods and then continuing to bill you. The content is very poor and rudimentary, highly discourage and warn people from purchasing and signing up for this service.

I kept emailing them since the 9th of…

I kept emailing them since the 9th of May and today is the 21st.
BE CAREFUL. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE unless you want to get charged and feel as an idiot.
And you from the company , I know you read this, cancel my subscription immediately.

What a joke

What a joke. They don’t even show you what they do so you’re forced to buy a plan even though they stamp a big 30 day guarantee back for satisfaction.
Once you realize this app isn’t for you and request the refund within the 30 days, they will tell you they don’t refund for personal reason or wont refund simply because the app is not what you think. What a scam 😒

Now I’m stuck using it for 7 days and I need screenshots just to prove my use.. even though it should be in their database 😒 all that hassle so I can request a refund.. AGAIN !!
Great marketing …. said no one 👎👎👎

Read the fineprint: to be avoided

Was suspicious. Adguard blocked opening the link in their mail. First red flag. Then I read the fineprint! I can subscribe for like 0,56 euro / month, and after one month Liven can charge me 75 euro monthly? This was a second and very big red flag for me.

Also check for other reviews (ao reddit): there is no way to cancel the automatic payment once you are in.

To be avoided

Been trying to cancel a subscription…

Liven is a SCAM!!!!

Liven is a SCAM!!!!! Don’t Buy! I got hooked too – Ad resonated with me. I went to sign up – and they indicated a 30 day money back guarantee – so I figured it was a safe purchase. NO – the app is garbage. Nothing of value. Just AI blah blah and they get your money! I requested the refund and was told their refund policy doesn’t cover requests made for PERSONAL or FINACNIAL reasons. Wow! Scam! And more fraud: I paid for a 1 Month subscription. Authorized 1 payment only. But when I went to PayPal to open a claim against these fraudsters – they had set up an automatic payment. Just terrible. YOU are smarter than me – you’re checking out the product before you buy…. DONT DO IT!!!!

The opposite of its stated purpose

It seems I am but one of many who has been totally deceived by this app. Therefore, coincidence is, you would think, highly improbable. I paid a one off payment of £29.99. I didn’t find the app useful in terms of its approach / capacity in addressing trauma / illness / wellness. I used it but a couple of times, and let it run its course. To my surprise, I noted a further £74.99 taken from my account. Upon contacting them to rectify this, reimburse and delete account , they replied they couldn’t have taken further payment without my details. But, they had my details from the one off trial period. They stated they make every attempt to make terms and conditions clear. They don’t. They have offered a 50% refund as a gesture of goodwill. This doesn’t remotely cut it. I need to pursue advice re effectively dealing with what has transpired to be nothing short of a scam. An app operating, so it says, as a source of support and worth to those suffering from the challenges of trauma and illness. I’d beg to differ.

Only to then charge me $59.99 the following month, for a continued “subscription.”

Disgusted – Scammers – Do not Use

Disgusted. I have enjoyed several “mindfulness” apps over the last few years. As I came across this “company” via social media, I purchased a one-time course for “procrastination” for $14.99. The app malfunctioned the 2nd day of using it – between freezing screens and not reporting data so that I could move forward in the app, I promptly asked for a refund. The quality was noticeably sub-par. They responded to my request FIVE days after I sent, asking me to provide a “screenshot” of me using the app. Um, excuse me? That was 5 days ago. Why would I have had my phone screen showing an app issue for 5 days so that I could have it readily available to take a screen shot? After several attempts to receive confirmation of a cancellation and refund, they threatened several times to close my case. Only to then charge me $59.99 the following month, for a continued “subscription.” Absolutely not. Why would I want to have anything to do this with “company?” Investigations are underway. FRAUDULENT vibes. SCAMMERS. UNETHICAL. You get it.

**Liven did follow-up and did stay true to their word; they refunded the full amount and apologized for all I had to go through in order to relay my concerns.

I am still getting charges to my credit card for $140.

THIS APP IS A SCAM

THIS APP IS A SCAM

I signed up for the three month subscription, after you get through payments and see the actual app/content it is clear that this is not what it says it is.

After I requested (Very nicely) to have my subscription and account deleted and this was confirmed by customer support that it was completed, I am still getting charges to my credit card for $140.

Now they are ignoring my emails to delete my account. Do not purchase this.

I will be going through the necessary steps with my credit card company’s fraud department to get these charges removed and hopefully this company is held responsible.

DONT trust LIVEN

DONT trust LIVEN

So disappointed. They purport to care, then mess up the payments. SOO STRESSFUL.
I signed up for a FREE trail followed by Quarterly payments which I can plan into my monthly finances. However, they have NOT acted as expected. These are my concerns:
Multiple Issues: LIVEN offered a free trial, followed by quarterly subscription. BUT: They took £25.99 IMMEDIATLY – Why ???
– then the NEXT payment made for a WHOLE YEAR: £74.99 … WHY ???
– That is NOT what I signed up to. I am so stressed and disappointed that they have ADDED to the stress that I was trying to manage.
